At the very end of the passenger corridor is a doorway – go through it, and you’ll be treated to a small observation area overlooking the ship’s bow. As long as conditions allow, these decks are open for passengers looking for a little quiet, or a scenic view for sailaway and sunset. These run along the port and starboard side of the ship and can be accessed from the Deck 3 (lowest) level of the ship’s Artists’ Atrium. These promenades don’t connect forward or aft, but deck chairs have been placed along some of the promenade’s length for passengers to enjoy. But look closer and you’ll see carpeting is brand-new, as are curtains for oceanview windows and balconies.
INSIDE THIS SHIP
Bring a small outlet expander (make sure it does not have surge protection built in as those are banned by cruise lines) to ensure you'll be able to charge a few things at a time, keeping everyone in the family happy. Often cruise lines offer special rates that cannot be displayed to the general public. By registering with Cruise.com you will be able to view these special rates and offers. On the same ship with the waterslides and conga lines is actually a photographic oasis. Everybody looks their best, smiles their biggest smiles on vacation… and at Dreams Studio our professional photographers beautifully capture this side of individuals, couples, groups or families. We’ll lead you to the best photo spots on the ship, in our onboard photo studio… or even ashore in some picturesque destinations.

A pizzeria with fresh hot pies is open 24/7 as well as room service. The first of the Carnival Cruise Line's Conquest-class liners (Fincantieri Monfalcone-built) started its Inaugural Cruise/Maiden Voyage on November 12, 2002. The ship has a French Impressionist-style interior decor complementing the city of New Orleans. The Conquest is of the Carnival fleet's Conquest-class boats, with sisterships Freedom, Glory, Liberty, Valor.

Guests have told us we hit on something special with the cool Caribbean chill of the RedFrog Pub. We've taken the best parts and brought them poolside with the RedFrog Rum Bar, where the frog keeps the fun hopping day and night with all the island flava you know and love. Carnival Conquest boasts 573 total balcony staterooms, perfect for enjoying romantic Caribbean sunsets and magnificent sunrises. Feel right at home as you enjoy delightful amenities, such as first-run in-cabin movies.
They’re free to play, so find a friend or three and get set for some serious play-action. This is the best room you can get… without bunking up with the guy himself. A Captain’s Suite aboard Carnival Conquest features tons of indoor space, and a huge balcony when you need a little more. Back inside you’ll find a king-size bed, two full bathrooms (one with whirlpool tub), plus a separate living room that sleeps another three.

These are all supervised by the friendly and fun-loving counselors who make sure teens have the best vacation ever. A pair of round windows in your room give you the classic seafarer’s view times two, a view of the ocean without breaking the budget. Dedicated stateroom attendant, Soft, cozy linens, In-room safe for valuables, Plenty of closet and drawer space, Television, Stateroom climate control. Now, that’s not to say you shouldn’t get the drink package on your next cruise. Only you know whether it’s the right purchase or not based on your habits and style of cruising.
Oceanview (OV)
The pickleball court on Carnival Conquest is the very first in the entire Carnival fleet. The 2022 dry dock also expanded the ship’s casino, updated ADA cabins and added some retail options. A trip to the salon is an opportunity to relax, to chat with others, to focus on yourself. It’s about more than just getting your hair or nails done… but it’s definitely about getting your hair or nails done!
Current itinerary of Carnival Conquest
Guitar sounds in the Impressionist Bar on Deck 5 midship; piano tunes with Rawle in the Blues Piano Bar each evening from 9pm until one in the morning. Latin tunes in the Atrium, along with the aforementioned classical trio. For those who want a truly unique view, head to Decks 6, 7, and 10 all the way forward.
Even more curious is that this doesn’t happen to me on luxury lines where all beverages are already included in the price of your cruise. But having paid a certain amount to have all my drinks included on Carnival Conquest, I felt obligated to get the most from my purchase. And that’s the wrong way to think about having a drink package. And yet, with the piano bar hopping and the music playing, I found myself ordering another martini at last call. Had I been paying $16 a pop for these, I would have probably stopped two drinks prior.
The most expansive changes came in 2012, in Freeport in The Bahamas, when Carnival updated this ship to Fun 2.0 standards. If you’ve been a long-time Carnival fan, you’ll know that the Fun 2.0 initiative included the cruise line making fleet-wide updates and adding a range of new venues, restaurants, bars, etc., to its ships. Built in 2002, just before the massive expansion of consumer electronic products, Carnival Conquest cabins have only one electrical outlet. Since most cruisers travel with multiple items that need to be charged regularly, one outlet just isn't going to suffice -- even if you're a solo traveler!
However, our last day – a port stop in Bimini, Bahamas – definitely didn’t eek out as much value, as I only ordered a few drinks. Knowing I could have saved some money on this port-intensive day did give me pause. For any cruises listed, Cruise Critic does not guarantee any specific rates or prices. Carnival Conquest gives the impression of being a well-oiled machine. Carnival Conquest’s real charm, however, is found on the inside. Cruise Critic jumped onboard in April 2024 for a quick 3-night jaunt from Miami to Bimini, Bahamas and found a lot to like about this ship that truly embodies the era of Classic Carnival.
Balcony staterooms were designed for maximum sea breeze and the most stunning views, so look to a balcony if you're looking to cruise aboard Carnival Conquest. Any time you're in your room, you're just steps away from your own personal outdoor oasis, featuring the sort of sea view you can also feel. As the lead ship for Carnival’s Conquest class, Carnival Conquest launched a series of five, fan-favorite cruise ships, all of which are still active today. The ship made its debut in 2002, however, so you may think that this vessel is too old to offer you a truly fun cruising experience — but that’s where you’d be wrong. Kids will never want to leave all the fun at Camp Ocean (ages 2 to 11) with specially created kid activities and they will always remember the "Seuss at Sea" fantasy-like experience. Imagine their delight when they sit down to a whimsical Green Eggs and Ham Breakfast with The Cat in the Hat and Friends.

But first-timers aboard Carnival Conquest may be surprised to discover Carnival Conquest offers some hidden open-deck hideaways from which to escape the noise and the crowds, if you so choose. At first glance, not much has changed with Carnival Conquest’s 1,490 staterooms and suites. They are standard Carnival, from the closets to the couches, lighting fixtures and powder-pink ceiling accents that hide the room’s recessed florescent lighting.

With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub. For my three-day cruise to the Bahamas, the total price to purchase Carnival’s Cheers! While all the buzz these days is about new cruise ships that are bigger, bolder, and more feature-laden than ever before, the fact of the matter is most of the cruise industry’s fleet dates from the mid-to-late 1990’s. Most of us will probably find ourselves cruising on an “older” ship rather than splashy – and expensive – newbuilds.
